In the ambit of the Sivam/Sipam project, 661 user terminal kits (VSAT antenna, phone/fax machine and computer) were installed within the Brazilian Legal Amazon. Together with satellite communications systems, they make up a telecommunications network able to integrate indigenous reserves, Ibama, Receita Federal, the Armed Forces and many Amazonian municipalities.
